Failure or Blessing?

Over the past several weeks, I have felt like I was wandering off-track. What happened to those goals I so carefully laid out, wrote down, plugged into my calendar and started whittling away at?!

Life happened… Other things jumped in the way of my goals, and here I am…

What do you do when things happen to pull you off the mark? Do you find yourself feeling frustrated, wondering how it happened, and thinking you will need to scrap your plans and start all over??

WAIT A MINUTE!! All is not lost! You are exactly where you are supposed to be right now. I was recently listening to Jay Shetty’s podcast and one thing he said was “Don’t Judge the Moment.” He says to remember that every failure has feedback. I love that!! And he is exactly right!

Whether we like it or not, life is dynamic – things do not always go as planned. Don’t label these detours as “good” or “bad.” In doing so, we are not allowing life to take us where we need to go. Instead, look for the blessing in everything and be grateful for every moment. Find the lessons.

When you maintain a continuous attitude of gratitude, there is no room for disappointment or bitterness that things didn’t go the way you thought they would.

Be sure to set aside time every few weeks to look back over your journal. You may be surprised to find that some of these detours that caused so much “hearburn” in the moment, actually were a tremendous blessing. They may have put you in a position for something that you would have missed out on, or protected you from a terrible mistake. And if you haven’t been journaling, start. You might be surprised to see how many things you thought were failures were actually blessings in disguise.
